Using SharePoint BCSWhen: Monday, April 19, 2010 @ 4:15 pm Where: Key Ballroom Complex Speakers: Liam Cleary In the previous version of SharePoint, the Business Data Catalog was a great tool for exposing backend line of business application data into web solutions such as the intranet, extranet or even public facing web sites. With the powerful web parts and the SharePoint search it became a compelling solution for exposing of business content. However there were limitations of the BDC. Microsoft have now addressed these limitations and now released the new SharePoint Business Connectivity Services. This does exactly what the Business Data Catalog did but takes the usage of this to greater heights. With the ability to consume BCS data through not only SharePoint but the Office Interfaces this is now truly an Enterprise Component.
In this session we will look at what you as a Business User, Administrator or even a Developer can do with Business Connectivity Services. Don’t worry we will stay away from the code for this session, well maybe a little bit.
